Parent Cue 6.19.19

No NYM tonight! I know we’re bummed about it too, but we’re taking the week off to get ready for our Party on the Pavement! That party will be next Wednesday (6.26.19), right here at Northridge! We are very excited and we think it will be a great way to kick off the summer with our students.

Also, we are very sorry for any confusion we may have caused about Roc MTN registration. Registration for middle school is now closed, but registration for high school is open until this Friday (6.21.19). Click HERE to register your high school student!

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to support our students at Student Baptism last night! We are so thankful that you were able to come out to celebrate life change as 14 students went public with their faith! We hope that last night was a reminder of the power of the Gospel and that it started good conversations for you and your family. If you were not able to be there last night, don’t worry! We will be sending a blog out in the next few days with a link to the video.

REMINDER: Rock MTN registration closes tomorrow (6/14)!

Last Week was move up night, where we had an opportunity to celebrate our 8th and 12th graders. In high school we were challenged by Graham to set ourselves up for growth in our relationship with Jesus over the summer, and in middle school we heard from Joe about the importance of finding our identity in our relationship with Christ.

Tonight we will be celebrating life change with our Student Baptism! We have the amazing opportunity to hear testimonies from 14 of our students and support them as they take this important next step in their faith! If you are the parent of a student being baptized then you already received an email containing details about where and when to arrive. If your student is not getting baptized, we would still love to have you join us to celebrate! The Baptism will start at 7:00, but the pre-party for students starts at 6:30. This is a family-friendly event, bring the kids in as we model obedience and next steps for the whole family. We will not be having child care available.

REMINDER: Roc MTN Registration closing on Friday (6.14.19)

Last Week Graham and Joe wrapped our series, The Untouchables, by taking a look at Luke 22:47-23:43. We heard about the criminals on the cross and looked at the difference between their responses to Jesus. We learned that the only correct response to Jesus is worship and humility, and we were prompted to ask ourselves: “how am I responding to Jesus?”

Tonight our program looks a little bit different. Tonight is move up night, which means that we will be passing the baton of leadership from seniors to juniors in hight school, and from 8th graders to 7th graders in middle school. We will also be celebrating our 8th graders as they move up into high school youth group, and our seniors as they transition into small groups! We will have a number of our young adult small group leaders with us to get to know our seniors and help them make a smooth transition. Tonight will be a fun time of celebrating this school year as well as setting the tone for a strong start to the summer!

  1. What has been your favorite part of NYM this year?

  2. How are you going to start this summer off strong in your relationship with Jesus?

  3. For seniors: Which small group are you going to join?
