Tonight Evan is going to be following up is introduction to prayer, and is going to be walking us through the Lord’s prayer. We’re going to be learning what it is like to pray how Jesus prayed, getting away from distractions and entering into a close relationship with his father. What we’ll see is that one of the most important things about our prayer life is the understanding of the God that we pray to.

Session 1

Tonight we will be hearing from Evan Woodall as he Introduces the topic of prayer. Evan will be looking at many passages throughout scripture to teach us that God wants to have a relationship with us, and he wants to do it through prayer. Evan will break down one of our common misconceptions about prayer - we think that prayer starts with us and ends with God, but we see that the Bible teaches us that prayer starts with God and ends with God. God pursues a relationship with us first and prayer is our response.

Last week we kicked off summer with our Party on the Pavement, and it was a blast! We were able to welcome our incoming sixth graders for the first time, and we’re excited to have them join us this week as well!

Tonight we celebrate independence the way our founding fathers did, with some good old fashion dodgeball. It’s Patriotic Dodgeball time! We have a great night planned, and if your student doesn’t want to play dodgeball don’t worry! We will have plenty of other games and activities available, as well as lots of spectator seats. Students are encouraged to dress up in red/white/blue so get creative!

*If you are playing dodgeball please bring gym appropriate shoes! (Non marking, closed-toed shoes)

What we’re teaching

Change.png

This weekend we are going to listen to Zach Laskowski as he teaches us about Prayer. Zach is going to be looking at what the Bible has to say about prayer, and how prayer causes change. Prayer causes change in the world, it causes change in our hearts, and it causes change in our lives. Our hope is for students to grow in their relationships with Jesus this weekend, specifically in the area of prayer. We are very excited to spend this weekend learning and praying together! We would appreciate prayers for the weekend!

Keep an eye on the blog over the weekend, we will be sending out updates daily!
