Parent Cue

We're Teaching This

We're concluding our series Battlefield with a challenge about conflict - but this time, the conflict isn't our fault. We'll be talking about how to deal with conflict around us. Whether it's at home or work or on your team, there will be conflict around you. And sometimes, you feel like you're caught in the crossfire.

So how do you deal with conflict when you can't solve it, but it's starting to bring you down?

John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Jesus was encouraging His disciples with the reality that HE IS PEACE, and as a result of that, WE CAN HAVE PEACE in the midst of conflict (even when that conflict continues on and on).

Bottom Line: You can't control conflict, but you can control yourself.

Ask This

  1. Who are some people in your life that seem to always be in conflict?
  2. How do you respond to that?
  3. How does it affect you?
  4. What can you do to maintain a commitment to peace that comes from Jesus instead of engaging in the conflict (Answer: Pray for Peace, Trust in God)?
