Here's What We're Teaching

We're continuing in our series I AM N, discussing the plight of the persecuted church around the world today. Last week, we asked the question "Do you Feel their Pain?"

This week, we plan to change up the flow of the night to really give students a sense of what it is like to be a Christian in a place where luxuries like buildings, freedom, lights and loud music are not an option. We'll be VERY Small Group focused, giving them an opportunity to learn about particular countries that are listed as the most dangerous places to be a Christian.

The big question that we want to drive home is this: Will you let them stand alone?

Hopefully your student comes home with stories to tell about how their experience at NYM opened their eyes to what it would be like to be a Christian somewhere other than America.

We'll be handing out ACTION CARDS tonight. We wanted you to know what they said so that you could think through how YOUR family might get involved in helping make sure that persecuted Christians around the world don't stand alone. You should see an image below: that's the back of the card we'll be handing out.

Maybe your family could choose to pray for a persecuted country on THIS list for the remainder of the school year, or fill an action pack, or send Bibles to persecuted Christians.

We'd love for this to be a family endeavor!

Ask This:

  1. How did tonight go? (they won't say things went "the same as usual")
  2. What did that experience make you feel/think?
  3. What would it be like to be a Christian in ____________ ? (the country their small group focused on)
  4. What could we do to make sure that Christians don't stand alone?
