Here's a few things that are coming up at NYM...
Wanted to give you a few updates to keep in your mind over the next few weeks of NYM.
High School Snow Camp
Registration for HS Snow Camp is open! We would love for all our high school students to join us, Feb. 23-25.

Flower City Work Camp
Student applications for FCWC 2018 are due this Friday, January 26.
However, at this point, we only have 21 available slots for students and 27 students have filled out applications.
Because the number of students we are allowed to bring is dependent on the number of required adult volunteers we provide, it's not guaranteed that all 27 students that have applied so far will be able to attend.
With that said, if you're able and willing to serve in any of the required adult leader positions (work site leaders, roving experts, sidewalk club leaders, or sport camp coaches) we would love your help!
You can apply to be a volunteer by clicking below. For a description of each of the volunteer positions, you can click HERE.
Two Upcoming Teaching Series
We are so excited to announce two upcoming series we think we be really impactful to our students and to your family. Our goal in both of these series to create open discussions and dialogues around these issues, ultimately answering the question, "What does the Bible say about this issue?"
Through the month of February, we'll be in a series called, How to Neighbor, a 3-week series that will explore what Jesus meant when he said to "love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39). We've collaborated with Josh Horn, our Director of Outreach here at Northridge, and over the next three weeks, we'll be looking at topics like
- Racial reconciliation
- Poverty alleviation
- Loving those who are different than us
We couldn't be more excited as we equip our students to live on mission and love others like Jesus.
Coming (Very) Soon...
On the heels of Valentines Day as we head into the spring, we're going to jump into our annual series on the biblical view of sex & sexuality.
We warned you! At our parent orientation (BYOP) in the Fall, we aren't afraid to handle tough topics, and we'll be diving into a 3-week series on February 28.
You can bank on the fact that we will be honest but appropriate and mold the content to reflect God's Word and an age-specific delivery. We'll cover things like the biblical view of sexuality, pornography, lust, sex and dating, gender identity and real-life testimonies of grace and life-change from people your students look up to.
You'll hear more about this in the coming weeks and we want to work hard to resource you as a parent. So stay tuned.
We don't think students need just a one-time "talk" about sex, but if you haven't started the life-long conversation about sex with your student yet, we'd encourage you to do so before February 28.
That's all for now! We'll see you soon, and as always, let us know how we can best partner with you as we lead students to be more like Jesus.
