Thanks for coming out to BYOP!

We absolutely LOVED getting to spend time with you this past Wednesday Night at our Bring Your Own Parent Night. It was great seeing parents connecting with other parents and watching parents connect with Small Group Leaders. We hope you left feeling connected, encouraged, and a part of what we do here at NYM. We’re excited to partner with you this next year!

NYM Prayer

All throughout Scripture we find incredible stories of God moving on behalf of His people because they prayed. If you think about Abraham, who prayed for the sparing of Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of Lot and his family. Or Elijah, who called down fire from Heaven to show the power of YAHWEH. Or the early church, who spent hours upon hours praying for God to move in mighty ways. God doesn't need our prayers to act, yet He spurs His people to ask Him with bold faith to move. What an Incredible God that we serve who would act through our prayers and according to His glory.

Ephesians 6:18 says this, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."

Not only does Northridge Church believe in the power of prayer, but our student ministry does as well! If we want to do anything of eternal significance in our ministry, it must be rooted in prayer.

With that said, we have exciting news: Starting this Fall, NYM will have a monthly prayer meeting. One of our incredible parents, Erin Allen, is burdened for the next generation. She sees the absolute necessity to cover our students, Small Group Leaders, Staff, and NYM Volunteers in prayer. Each month will focus on a general theme and there will be an opportunity to pray together as a group and then break up into smaller groups to pray more specifically. We know that the Lord loves hearing His kids pray, so let’s gather and ask for His power to move in the lives of our teenagers!
