A Free Resource for You
We understand that parenting teenagers and working through topics like sex and sexuality is tricky. But we also believe that God has given parents this responsibility - That's why we want to do everything we can to partner with parents and resource them to do this well.
Over the past two weeks, NYM has been discussing what the Bible says about sex & sexuality, but we don't just want to help students think about this, we want to help YOU as parents as well.
Last year, we offered a "fireside chat" style event on March 21st at the Irondequoit Campus with Pastor Andy Woodall and his wife Julie, where they worked through questions related to raising teenagers and teaching them about sexuality.
The feedback we got was overwhelmingly positive, and several parents have requested we do it again. You spoke, and we listened, so we'll be having a similar event during NYM, from 6:45 - 7:45.
Andy Woodall (our pastor of counseling) and his wife Julie are going to be sharing their story about raising teenagers, especially as it relates to sexuality. (Andy and Julie have a college sophomore, 12th grader, 10th grader and 6th grader). They will share their lessons learned, insights from God's Word and will take an opportunity to answer your questions.
If you'd like to ask questions, hear what your students are asking AND chat with a couple that has lead through this tough topic. we'd love to have you join us on March 21st from 6:45 - 7:45. If you're interested, RSVP below & ask your questions!
Next week is GLOW
Our biggest party night of the year is coming up next Wednesday, March 14! Make sure students invite their friends and wear WHITE.
After GLOW, we wrap up GRAY
We extended this series out for another week to cover a topic we didn't get to touch on much in weeks 1 & 2: How do I date in a way that pleases God? Should I be dating at all? What does the Bible say about boundaries? Purity in relationships?
Originally, we planned to cover our series on sex & sexuality in 2 weeks, but we feel this topic is especially helpful to a student. On March 21st we're going to round out our series on sex & sexuality by talking about dating.
Stay tuned for more updates!
